New York Foundation for Senior Citizens is dedicated to helping New York's seniors enjoy healthier, safer, more productive and dignified lives in their own homes and communities and to help them avoid the need for premature institutionalization.
New York Foundation for Senior Citizens mourns the passing of Alma Rangel, our highly dedicated long-term Vice Chairman of our Board of Directors and beloved friend. Over the past 46 years, Alma has been a driving force behind and staunch supporter of the Foundation’s planning, development and administration of numerous buildings and social service programs, especially Alma Rangel Gardens and the Home Sharing and Respite Care Program. Alma has advocated on behalf of each of our endeavors to ensure the Foundation’s ongoing provision of the highest quality housing and social services for older New Yorkers.Shown at the groundbreaking for Alma Rangel Gardens, affordable older adult housing in Harlem, Alma Rangel, at right, with her husband, the Honorable Charles N.
